IFS MMA CLASSES
Team IFS have developed a system that works very well for MMA competition through years of trial and error and taking the most effective and efficient techniques for combat sports and using them to build a solid all round MMA game. The IFS Team has developed over 40 MMA Champions using this system and continues to develop starting students on small novice MMA events right through to the World stages and International events across the globe.

MMA Sparring class

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports and martial arts. At IFS this is the class we put everything we drill in Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing and No-gi grappling together and test them with live drills and sparring.

Boxing for MMA class
This class is different from a traditional boxing gym in that we develop students stand up but with an emphasis on the MMA game adding in take down defence, takedown entries, a lot more movement, more level changes, effective combos along with developing hand speed and Knock Out Power.

Wrestling for MMA class
Wrestling is the art of takedowns, takedown defence and control. At IFS we believe in a strong wrestling base for all fighters so it helps them dictate if their fight stays standing or goes to the ground. The wrestling class again works round MMA principles and tkes the most high percentage techniques and using them for MMA competition.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a combat sport from Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full contact fighter very efficient.

No-Gi Grappling and control for MMA class
No-gi grappling for MMA covers submissions, sweeps,Ground and Pound and control techniques for MMA competition without a Gi which would be worn in traditional BJJ clubs. The grappling and submission program at IFS is based around high percentage techniques that work in live MMA competition when strikes are involved also on the ground.

Beginners MMA Fundmentals

IFS have an MMA Fundamentals program in place for new members with no previous background and/or need help to improve their fitness. This gives new students circa 6 mths to a year learning the basics , improving their cardio and knowledge of MMA. Whenever the student feels ready they then join the senior classes to continue their development. Many of our senior members who are now champions came through this process!
